Supply Chain Specialists

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will play a key role in delivering our “98% availability” KPI whilst managing stock within budget.  We are looking to recruit an experienced supply chain analyst/retail category analyst who will demonstrate a high degree of personal responsibility and accountability in order to deliver KPIs.  We are looking for a self-starter who can use their own experience and judgement to make decisions and be proactive in driving process change.  You will be expected to manage a combination of fast & slow moving products across a number of product categories; each with their own logistical and commercial challenges.

Key Accountabilities

Availability and Stockholding

Management of on shelf availability, stock turn and stock holding levels across your product areas.

Monitor and manage levels of stock within Hobbycraft stores, through data analysis, identifying seasonal, lifecycle and promotional trends and ensuring replenishment parameters are adjusted to reflect these.

Accurate item level forecasting and management at category level

Develop Suppliers

Develop relationship with suppliers to improve availability and resolve issues.

Prepare supplier specific forecasts from available data and analyse actual performance against forecast and feeding back to supplier to drive improvement.

Pro-actively monitor and analyse supplier performance against OTIF and identify risks and opportunities through weekly and quarterly strategic reviews with your suppliers.

Working with suppliers to optimise route to shelf parameters including pack size efficiencies

Communication and Implementation

Work cross functionally with Buying, Ecommerce, Operations, Finance and Suppliers to ensure effective planning and implementation of supply chain activities

Work with buyers to deliver range changes on time including forecasting new line and promotional volumes along with exit strategies.

Manage allocations and raise purchase orders for range change and promotional activity in line with critical paths.

Communicate and resolve current issues whilst factoring in future impact and working with the buyer to implement commercial solutions.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

A minimum of 2 years’ retail experience as either a Supply Chain Analyst or Assistant/Junior Merchandiser, ideally from a national retailer.

Strong analytical skills with passion for attention to detail but ability to take a top line approach where appropriate

Advanced Excel skills and a previous use of Demand Planning and Replenishment systems

Good base understanding of fast retail operations and how that applies to Logistics and Warehousing practices.

High level of energy and positive attitude when dealing with challenges.

Proven skills in problem solving; and the ability to anticipate issues and take decisive corrective action, working within established procedures.

Outgoing and self-motivated to prioritise in line with the business requirements to produce a consistently high standard of work.

Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise in a demanding environment and must be well organised and strive for accuracy in results.

Salary negotiable dependent upon experience
